Frequently Asked Questions?

Starting your restoration journey can be a complicated one. We know our clients have plenty of questions so we tried to answer a few of them here to help you start on the right foot. Below you’ll find a few common questions we get asked, but if you still have more feel free to reach out to us
here on our contact page and ask away!

  • We have had several projects all over the state of Florida and even a few out of the state. Yet, the majority of our projects are in the Greater Tampa Bay area.

  • We’d love to hear about all your project needs, regardless of size. If a project isn’t a good fit for us, then we often can point you in the right direction to find help.

  • While there is never a guarantee, we have helped many clients past and present secure state, city, and federal grants to contribute to their projects. Grants vary greatly depending on scope, location, and timeframes. Often they need to be planned and applied for with a good deal of lead time.

  • This depends widely on the scope and complexity. Our team works hard to get an initial estimate done as quickly as possible; often a few weeks. Some projects require additional evaluations after some exploratory work (exterior cleanings, etc) or the consultation of other experts such as engineers, roofers, and architects. These factors can contribute to the timelines of initial estimations and proposals.

  • We do have a team of subcontractors whom we work closely with. In particular, we work together with our teams of expert roofers and scaffolders to meet your needs, with all other areas of work being performed in-house by All Trades’ experts. We always obtain multiple estimates from subcontractors that we share with you, our client. Transparency with our process and cost is always a priority.

  • Determining the budget and scope of work needed is a great jumping-off point. Knowing what issue you are trying to address or what goals you have for your building are helpful for us to start mapping out the path to getting you there. Our team can help establish through our evaluation what work would be needed to get you there, help break down budgeting, and get you started on the necessary paperwork to get permission to perform the desired work.

  • We are adamant about not over-promising and underdelivering. Providing our clients with realistic timelines is critical to us. After a thorough examination of your project’s scope we will coordinate to get you started with the administrative process, which will ultimately set the pace for your project. Getting any required COA (Certificate of Appropriateness) is going to be a big determinator for your timeline.

  • We are currently and typically looking for skilled craftsmen in the Tampa Bay Area. We do our best to maintain ongoing projects and keep our teams engaged full-time all year round. Email your resume and we will get back to you ASAP about how we might be able to utilize you on our next project.

  • Many of our clients are able to keep their churches, schools, or places of business completely open as long as they take the necessary precautions. On some occasion, certain work will render areas off-limits and as with most construction, there will be some extra noise onsite. Once we do a full evaluation we can make a plan that minimizes impact to your operations or patrons. Also note that we have to follow zoning guidelines which can limit things like how we use sidewalks, streets, and hours we can work locally.

  • Embarking on a journey in historical preservation is both accessible and enriching. Start by immersing yourself in the stories of your community through guided historical tours, locally-oriented museums, and books that delve into your area's past. These experiences not only deepen your appreciation for local history but also offer valuable knowledge that can inform your involvement. Attend community events, connect with historical societies, and consider volunteering for restoration projects to actively contribute to the preservation cause. Engaging with your community on online forums or attending city council meetings can also keep you abreast of ongoing preservation initiatives. Remember, your interest, whether through casual exploration or hands-on participation, contributes to the vibrant tapestry of preserving our shared heritage.

  • We work on both exteriors and interiors but our primary focus has historically been exterior work. Our goal in preserving your building is to create an exterior that not only looks great but functionally protects the interior from the elements such as water. Exterior work can be rewarding and we always want to hear about your goals so we can help give you a realistic estimate or point you in the right direction.

  • We are a licensed and bonded general contractor (CGC #1528699). We follow all the historical guidelines laid out by the NPS Technical Preservation Briefs and work alongside the historical preservation committees locally to make sure we maintain the highest degree of historical preservation possible.

  • Our office is located in downtown Saint Petersburg FL and we are typically in Monday - Friday during normal business hours. If you’d like to meet in person fill out our contact form on our website or give our office a call and we can try to find a time to discuss your needs in person.

  • As of 2023 federal law still deems marijuana a Schedule I substance under the Controlled Substances Act. These are the guidelines we follow and as a drug-free company, employees must be prepared to perform substance screenings as requested.

  • While we understand it’s everyone's personal choice how they handle their personal health we are a drug-free workplace. The nature of our work involves the use of complex tools, heavy machinery, is highly demanding and potentially dangerous. Our company is proud to maintain the highest standards in safety, abides by the law, and maintains our ethical obligations to our clients and team; therefore we are a drug-free company, and employees must be prepared to perform substance screenings as requested.
