Cathedral Church of Saint Peter

The Cathedral Church of St. Peter, located at 140 Fourth St. N in St. Petersburg, Florida, serves as the seat of the Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Florida. Established in 1889, the parish initially gathered in a modest frame structure before relocating to its current site, where the existing brick church was completed in 1899. Over the years, the cathedral has undergone several expansions and renovations to accommodate its growing congregation and evolving ministries. Architecturally, the cathedral showcases a Gothic Revival style, featuring a prominent bell tower and spire that contribute to St. Petersburg's distinctive skyline. The interior is adorned with stained glass windows illustrating scenes from the life of Christ, the Stations of the Cross, the sacraments, and the lives of the saints. A notable rose window graces the west façade, while a depiction of Jesus and St. Peter walking on water enhances the chancel area. Beyond its architectural significance, the Cathedral Church of St. Peter actively engages with the community through various ministries, educational programs, and cultural events, embodying its mission of faith, service, and outreach.

In 2024 All Trades began its extremely rewarding restoration of the church’s main steeple. The tower was in dire need of structural rehab and repairs. Weathering through not one but two of Florida’s worst hurricanes in many years, the team was able to restore the tower for generations to come.
